My New Place

So... I finally found my camera, and I've got pictures of my new apartment to post.  Both of my roommates are pretty cool.  One of them works full-time as a nanny and the other one is working and going to school.  I can't remember what for though.  I know she's told me, but I always forget stuff like that.  Hmmm, maybe I need to work on that.  Any ways, here's some pictures of my new place.
My new bedroom. I have to share it, but there's enough room for both of us.

One of the biggest perks of this place is a washer and dryer in the apartment.  Yeah!!

For a two bedroom apartment, the kitchen is really big.

Our cozy living room.

A nice little pool to hang with friends in.

Biggest surprise to me was the trees out in the courtyard.  I'd been here for a couple of days before I noticed a couple of large white blossoms up in the trees.  This is the first time I've seen magnolias in the Tucson area.

So there's my apartment in all of glory. ;)

Technology, where has it taken us?

One of my new roommates is watching the movie "You've Got Mail,"  One of those cute Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan romance movies.  I was thinking of the internet then and now.  When that movie was made only the schools in bigger cities had internet.  It was all dial up, it took anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes for a webpage to download (depending on how much junk was animated).  Of all my friends, only one of them had internet, and the dancing baby videos were the biggest thing on the net.  Now, just about all classrooms have at least on computer with internet.  For the most part it is wireless.  All I know about wireless is that it's not hooked up to a cable.  I still don't know the different between a modem and a router.  To me a router is a wood-working tool. ;)  And nearly every home has internet access, most with 2-3 computers on the internet.  Along with the internet comes i-tunes, Netflix, Youtube, Facebook and countless other websites that are for social networking.  It's great that all this information is now available to us and it's easier to keep in touch with long lost friends.  However, I sometimes wonder if people care more about their cyber social life more than they care about their real life.  Food for thought.

New Place to Live!!

So, I finally found a place to live.  It took me 3 weeks instead of two.  Fortunately my parents tolerated the presence of my cat for a week till I was able to find a place.  Except for the fact that Loki has been banished to the front room the entire time, it's worked out well.  I got to move back into 5th ward with a couple of really awesome girls.  They are Aubri and Megan.  Hopefully I spelled their names right.  If not, SORRY! If I could download pictures I would, but I can't find my camera and I can't figure how to download pictures from my cell phone.  Maybe I should find some hot techy junky and get him to do it for me. ;)
